DavD3
Well, today was my unlucky day i guess.I saw a dream that the cop pulled me over and he did in real life. Yes, speeding! My friend was waiting for me, and on 101 freeway was huge accident ( truck full of cars hit the wall ) So i took detour on 170, by that time friend called twice.Gees,so i was going fast on almost empty street, and that's when i saw Him on the bike, and he had a radar 56mph in 35 mph zone. Bad,bad, bad driving! Anyway, this my second ticket in my life, first one was in'95 same thing: cop on a bike with radar on Sunset Blvd in Beverly Hills, that time i think it was 54mph in 35 mph zone.Well i think fines went up for last few years. But anyway, any suggestions what i should do? Go to traffic school and forget about anyting or go to court and if cop will show up ask for traffic school from judge? Postpone the cort? So what do you think guys? Thanks, David

Guest kc6wfs
Traffic shool.. You still will have to pay the fine. It will be in the 200.00 dollar range. Traffic school will be another 50.00 or so... Dave
Tim240z
YEah, just do the traffic school thing. Do it online. Very easy, cheap ($20 last time I did it) and the online Company takes care of sending in all the paperwork. Doesn't get much easier than that. Then you have to be a good boy for 18 months before you are elligable (sp?) for traffic school again.... It's been long enough for me, so I have a 'get out of jail free ticket' that I have been saving for the Z Tim
Chaparral2f
You should have just run over the cop.
mobythevan
You and me both, I got one for 48 in a 35 this morning. Next month my last ticket would have been at three years so my insurance would have gone down. Life has a funny sense of humor. Oh well, someone has to support the donut fund, unlike the infinitely lucky Sleeperz who showed up at court and the cop was a no show. If we could all be so lucky
SleeperZ
... the infinitely lucky Sleeperz who showed up at court and the cop was a no show. If we could all be so lucky I think if you were calm, offered no resistance or arguements at the time of the traffic stop, and it wasn't a work or school zone, you may not have made enough of an impression on the officer. I hear this can make a difference when fighting the ticket, as the cop may not remember you well. If you decide to fight it, try to extend the court date as much as possible - mine was extended 2 weeks, but there was 4 months of time between my ticket and the arraignment. Good luck. I did all that, plus i stoped the car when i saw his lights flushing, he didn't even followed me.But i see, i think more of a traffic school, becaue i just don't want to go in court, but we will. Thanks for suggestions guys! David
Heavy Z
He really didn't make your day, writing you up for 21 mph over the speed limit is bad news in California. 20 mph or over boosts the fine and makes you ineligible for traffic school, at least that's what a cop in Marin told me two years ago when I got my last ticket. Hopefully things have changed, good luck.
