Mikelly
What a car... I still have the sales brochures from the early 90s... I'm glad someone has one of these and is actively competing in the thing... They WOULD NOT ALLOW this guy to compete in the Real Street Eliminator Contest... I love it... That car is amazing AND has heat and AC at 2200# WITH a full tank! If you see this one on the stand, grab it and read the article... That car is one of my all time favorites! Z-Dreamer
Actually thats not the latest issue since I just got my March issue yesterday, go figure? Nice to see them feature the LS6 powered Ultima GT. I really look forward to my issue of car craft, but I wish they would more readly embrace American iron in other than old muslecars. Cars like ours are the answer to the current import plague. ps. Mikelly, you and Pete should fly out for the Rio Vista meet in April. My offer still stands! Guest Tht1KSguy
I couldn't agree more Mike. The GTR is definately my all time favorite. Talk about not having to worry about everybody else having one. I think I have every magazine that car has ever been featured in. Read http://www.ultima-gtr.info/ulife.htm for a good read of daily life with the car. My favorite is http://www.ultimaclub.com/index-site.htm and click on the fastest Ultima link on the left. Twin turbo V8 capable of 1300hp... detuned to 780 at the flywheel for a 245mph top speed. Sweet. I figure you could build a hell of a car for $50k, the base car starts around $30k minus engine/transaxle. Now, all I just have to knock off a few ATM's... Mikelly
I've still got the video from a guy who was selling these out in california back in the early 90s, and the sales info... The video is increadible, as it shows them firing one up for the first time, its performance at a hill climb event, as well as at Phoenix IR. Nothing beats being in the driver's seat, but the video footage from there isn't a bad second! Mike
