  1. I have a 455 on the stand. I have been searching for the right Z for a few years to put this in. Keep me updated on your progress.
  2. I dont know about the 350, but everyone I have ever talked to about my 455 says to definately NOT go with a high volume pump.
  3. Mr2s are mid 14 to low 15 second cars stock. But as with almost all factory turbo cars, they dont take crap to make them fly. A few bolt ons and they are SOLID 13 second cars. I was looking for a nice one for 2 years. But everyone who had a nice one knew it and wanted WAY too much for it. FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN cars to drive!
  4. My Buick 455 is rated at 510 ft/lbs...and it is for the Z.
  5. I choose cheap and fast. I have no need for a show car.
  6. Im working on a Buick 455. Same concept.
  7. Around here, trannys are very expensive(over a grand) and almost impossible to locate.
  8. 8) Its hard to believe that something so small...
  9. I wish the DSM's or the Skyline didnt break. That Z had no chance in hell otherwise. I liked the Z, but ULTIMATE STREET CAR it is not.

    4G63??

Last I heard, Plebani sold the Starion and 4g63'd a wide body Porsche. Just do an internet search and you are bound to find info on his old car.
  11. There is also one in Sport Compact Car with a BMW V12 and MANY MANY very trick parts It didnt win though.

    4G63??

Since I am into DSMs I have definately thought about it. But I figured I would go Big Block first.
  13. Thank you for that reply Mikelly. It saved me from all that typing. Good Lord, I can believe the extent of the safety net some people require on low budget, low production parts. I have been a part of many types of automotive "communities" and this is the only place I have EVER been that pretty much discourages small guys from making parts that the big companies have neglected. All of these parts that I have seen criticized have seemed to be alot more substantial than the stockers they replace. Just because they havent been sent to a lab, they are no good? I dont get it. I understand that safety is a major concern. But damn... EDIT: I figured it out...there are just too many engineers here
  14. OMGOMGOMG........TWINS!!! One word comes to mind...sandwich.
  15. I saw that and was wondering if he was on here. Sweet ride.
  16. She wont be strictly a drag car. Mainly a street car with occasional drag and auto x. Plus the stop light shenanigans! If I get serious about drag racing it, I will go live axle. Depending on the cost of axles, I might go ahead and do it now. A local guy is running mid 10's on his r200 and stock axles. I definately dont plan on being faster. So what place do you guys recommend for axles (other than the search button ) I will do a search, but if anyone else can add helpful experiences, I would appreciate it!
  17. Good runs. Its a good thing it wasnt for "pinks"!
  18. Where do most of you go to have them made, and how much do they cost? Im expecting over 500 ft lbs so I need them stout!
  19. AHHHH! This makes my brain hurt! I have no engineering experience, so I cant help there. Most people who have made comments have about as much experience as I do. Those of you with experience, please keep the suggestions coming. It is very beneficial to him Im sure. Here is the deal. You cant put a pricetag on safety, right? Thats great. If you dont feel safe with the product, dont buy it. Did each one of you with cages make sure the builder built and crash tested numerous cages before even considering him/her? Highly doubtful. And a cage is just as critical as hubs. What about seat brackets? Engine and tranny mounts?(like stated above) What about some of the things cobbled together for the steering shaft? Im sure they all have years of R&D behind them. So he had a 60 sec vid. Do you want him to show a weeks worth of solid vids of a pressure test? I dont get it. Instead why dont you ask him what kind of testing was done. Maybe he performed more than you think. I would be happy to help test them, but I do not plan on spending that kind of money on my Z. Maybe some of you drag racers would like to launch on them for a while. Maybe a roadracer would bite the bullit and make a few laps on a set. Maybe not. If you arent willing to help, why criticize? Yes, he should have an outside source test them. Years of testing is always good. If it was me, I would be insured out the ass. But then you all will bitch because the hubs are a grand a piece. He isnt a large vendor wanting to make millions of parts. From what I gather, he is a small vendor that is interested in making small batches of parts that nobody is even willing to attempt, that would benefit the community greatly. Like stated above. If your expecting an oem part, buy oem(if they made one). If you want a custom piece, make it yourself, or rely on the guys in the trenches making parts no one else wants to make. He is offering samples to send out. His confidence says volumes to me. I have never seen a small vendor in a small niche community offer to do so. Try them. Take them to your engineering instructors. Smash them with a sledge hammer. Check them out. He is offering. If you dont like it, let us all know so we can avoid them. But until you do so, you probably dont have much room to judge them. Hell you havent even seen them yet!
  20. Nope. Im a moron. I must have been really tired. It is a Chilton. Nowhere near a factory manual
  21. I wasnt referring to any one car in particular. I just dont see how cars like these two belong in the same thread.. May the car Gods forgive me for putting them in the same post. I appreciate every car for what it is' date=' the gts and chevelle maybe 2 different cars, and these two are modded for completely different reasons, and thefore in my mind 2 completely different kinds of badass. And my thread was about badass cars, whats wrong with mixing imports and old school muscle.. if im not mistaken, thats really why this whole website was started in the first place... [/quote'] I couldnt have said it any better. It is wonderful to have an open mind.
