denny411 Posted January 30, 2004 Share Posted January 30, 2004 For some reason my truck seems to have lost oil pressure. It usually runs about 60psi at speed, and 40-45 @ idle. I made a last minute trip to advance tonight and had perfect oil pressure when I left the house, but on the way home while sitting at a traffic light the guage read 5psi. I pulled in to the fist parking lot and checked the oil (710) level. and was only down 1/2 qt. I looked under the truck and didn`t see any oil leaks. dmyntti Posted January 30, 2004 Share Posted January 30, 2004 My truck did that when ever the rpm dropped down around idle. If I raised the RPM up the pressure would come back. When I tore it down there was a bad main bearing and I had wiped a cam lobe getting it home. I hope yours comes out better than that.
