Tim240z
I assume that with the minimal mods I've made so far that the 28lb injectors will still suffice. At what point would 30lb'ders be warranted? Cam? TB? etc. I have TunerCat so I can change the PCM when changing the injectors. Will it help any at the moment with just the free'er flowing intake and exhaust and no emission equipment?
Guest Anonymous
Tim, I have lt 4 heads and cam and bigger throttle body and still run the stock injectors on my 93 lt-1.
Owen
There's a formula for calculating injectors, I'm sure you've seen this. http://www.rceng.com/technical.htm Owen
Tim240z
Thanks Owen! Mark, Have you Dyno'ed your car? Are you also running the LT4 Cam?
mas28O
Tim I had my LT1 on the dyno with the stock 24lb injectors and the 30lb. They both made the same power. The 24lb injectors are good up to 350RWHP. Mike

Guest Your Car is Slow
Eh...just because an injector can flow up to 350hp...at perhaps 110% duty cycle...id rather have a bigger injector that can supply fuel without having to kill itself in the process. More hp = more fuel.....youll spend 3k on a set of heads and a cam..countless hours of tuning and dyno work..but wont spend 200 bucks on a set of 36lb injectors? sheesh

At what point are the stockers starting to 'max out'.
mas28O
Anything past 350rwhp you are pushing 90% duty cycle. When I was at the dyno they had charts of lt1's on the dyno, all of the 360rwhp + cars where running the 30lb. Tim you are running a stock motor you should be making about 270RWHP. Put some heads and cam in it. Mike
love-my-V8-280Z
Has anyone here just upgraded the cam? I have a 95 LT1 and would like to up the pony but not kill my pocket. The motor is out of the car and now is the time to do it. I have seen the LT4 heads and cam, If I remember it was about $2,000. Mark, you went from 270 to 314 with the lt4 heads and cam, are you happy with the upgrade for the cost?
Tim240z
There are other aftermarket LT1 heads out there, not sure how they flow compared to the LT4? Edelbrock and others have heads. I believe that the Comp, or Crane cams are better than the LT4 cam. Tim
Guest MistaFosta
You guys are scaring me. My lastest engine, a Morgan Motorsports 396 lt1 is set up with 28 lb injectors. It ran healthy (A/F ratio was untuned, but rich) on the dyno, and made 450 rwhp. Now Im worried that the injectors are maxxed out. Anyway to check the duty cycle on them?
