T-5 tranny mount?

Hi

i am doing a 83 zxt T-5 tranny swap in my 78 280z and i was wondering if i need to get a different tranny mount because when i tried putting the tranny in today the mount was about 2 inches back from the mount holders in the car. do i need to but a zxt mount or do i just need to jiggle it up in there. Also does anyone have a T-5 drive shaft they feel like selling.

I was able to mount the T-5 into my 73 by just slotting the diff mount holes and sliding the mount forward. I was also able to use the stock uncut T-5 driveshaft, but I understand that this is a rarity as they are usually too long and have to be shortened by and inch or 2 (just something to think about).

Dremel + Tungsten cutting bit = 20 min all done!

 

I just slotted the mount and the ears on the tranny itself and it fit just right. I had my driveshaft shortened about an inch and balanced for about $100-120.

thanks for the help i got it in today. the B&M short throw is really nice i would recomend it. i had to buy on for an 83-00 mustang but it fits like a glove with alittle cutting on the transmission tunnel to get it to fit.

you may have to cut your console out a little too, i had to cut mine for my steeda tri-ax, but oh well
