Questions that I'm too stupid to handle alone

I have a 1986 300zx, but i don't know if it's posi-trac or not. Also, when my car is running warm, and i turn it off, the radiator runs for like an hour, why doesn't it cool with the fan when it's off? Is my fan not working, or is the car just set up to cool via radiator?

If it's the OEM rear, I'd say it is NOT a LSD (Limited Slip Differential). Can't address your question about the radiator (or more acurately, the fan?)

84-86 300zx's did not have an lsd...even the turbo cars.

hmm.. that sucks. Couldn't i just go monster garage on it, and open the rear end.. then weld the two gears together? or does that do any sort of long term damage?

You can't weld the diff while its in the car. You have to get the side gears positioned correctly and square to the case or you'll get a big vibration. Also, a welded diff is not for street use.

prolly wrecks handling then, right? Umm... anyone know where a large wrecked 240sx yard is? i'm trying to snag a throttle body off it. Unless you guys have a better idea of what to use... i've always heard use the 240 one.
