Guest iskone
Vortec heads are good to 450hp with GOOD tuning and a cam. Why not go with Pro Toplines thay are pretty cheap from Power House or of Ebay and out flow Dart heads at high lift, barely. Sounds like a deal for that short block where are you getting it? BillZ260
Do you have a link to those power house heads? Price complete?
Guest iskone
I SWEAR THIS LOGGING IN EVERY TIME I WANT TO POST SUCKS!!! Anyway yeah Powerhouse is great! The Pro Topline's Aluminum heads assembled are only $900, for complete aluminum heads that is a great deal! Cheack out the price for a 383 stroker kit $470, the next step up is $800 with coated hypers w/ 10.7 to 1 compression BALANCED. http://www.enginekits.com/catalog.html I know Vortecs are about $450-$500 a set but they are iron and don't flow as much and can't have as much lift, Can you even use a roller? grumpyvette
FYI Pro Topline closed it's doors last month . What products that are on the shelf will be sold but production has halted. Apparently this is to be a short term problem and they expect to be back online within a few weeks. .

grumpyvette
pro topline had money problems, they say they expect to be back in service within a few months but that may or may not be true. personally I hope that they are back as they produced a good product (from what I saw from the few examples I used)
Guest crazymike
You could also go with Dart iron eagle castings. You can get a pair of assembled 230cc castings for about a grand with summit. I saw a dude that had a 350 small block with those heads and a pretty big mechanical roller (258@ .050) and made 550hp and 500ft lbs of torque. Not bad for a 350! Guest iskone
Yeah the dart heads would be a good second choice. You could also get the pro 1 heads they sell, they're aluminum and on ebay the cheapest I've seen them assembled is some where around $900 - $1,000 here is a link http://search.ebaymotors.com/search/search.dll?MfcISAPICommand=GetResult&cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Febaymotors%2Fws%2F&siteid=100&from=R8&s_partnerid=2&categorymap=6000&category0=6000&SortProperty=MetaEndSort&ebaytag1=ebayreg&query=dart+pro+
