Guest Mike85t
Hey all. I've asked this question on the other forums I post at but couldn't get an answer. What is the difference between the 280zx t3 and the 300zx t3 regarding the exhaust housing. Does anybody know if the exhaust outlet of the 280zx t3 turbine housing will bolt up to the 300zx cast iron exhaust elbow? In other words will an s130 turbo bolt up in place of a z31 turbo. Brad-ManQ45
My Chilton's manual shows a completely different turbine housing for the Z31 as compared to the Z130... Why would you want to put a non-watercooled center section turbo in? You could hust swap turbine housings...
Guest Mike85t
Thanks Brad. I was thinking there might be a significant difference. And actually I don't want to put a dry turbo in.
SleeperZ
If the downpipes or wastegates will not swap, it's very easy to swap the turbine housings - even if they have different downpipes, the housings will swap. Then you can keep the coolant cooled center section. If I'm talking out of my ass, let me down easy
