mc
...Hello all....i need to know if the straight 6 and v6 share the same spacing between engine mounts [280z and 300zx ] ...can a 300z engine drop on to the 280z mounts???
z-ya
The short answer, no. Totally different mounting. A fair amount of hacking and fabrcation is required to swap a Nissan V6 in an early Z. A much easier swap would be a SB Chevy. Pete

kalium99
Hey Simon, How hard was making the mounts for the VG30DET? Did you get it with a G/B and were there any clearance issues ? How hard is it to work on the engine once you have it in there? (i.e tight tight spaces..) I have looked around and cant find many prices for them...how much did you pay for your if you dont mind me asknig. Cheers
GrayZee
Perhaps it is easier to install a VG engine in a right hand drive car. I know that ZR8ED has a VG30et but he had to make modifications to this steering shaft as I recall.
