  1. ..i've read similar info as well...i have a R200 3.90 rear in my 88 200sx SE that has been converted to a remote turbo set up...i have recently picked up a R200 rear with 3.54 gears ..it was from a early 80's 300zx turbo...the weather is starting to get nicer so hopefully in a month or so it will get installed.
  2. i have a extra capacity deep finned r200 diffy cover that also has in/out ports to hook up a cooler...what is this worth??
  3. i have it set to 9 lbs boost using a assist spring on the T3 internal wastegate arm....very low buck and it works decent.
  4. i built the same inexpensive, simple alky injection set up as you posted ...i have no times to back up its benefits and it is sort of "intercooled" being a remote turbo install[long return pipe]..but it never pings on 87 octane...its doing something right.
  5. i agree...i'd rather hear the engine under boost than the radio anytime!,,..are you still having success using the washer pumps to spray the alky???
  6. ..i took a ride to Home Depot looking for the the above...they didnt have any of the recommended???They carried something alled M.E.K...Methyl Ethyl Ketone...close enough???
  7. I found these parts at Home Depot and decided to give it a try.It worked great at first....nice steady needle readings but the second day its all shakey...the needle pulses rapidly between 25-30 psi..is this because it is a cheap guage????
  8. ..funny, i just finished installing my used BEGI 2025 that i stole off of EBAY[82.00 shipped]...i love this device...easy to install and and its already made my remote turbo conversion "really" come to life...my car is an animal now...pulls so much harder!
  9. Bastaad, I recently scored a Begi [2025,i believe??] on Ebay for 80.00...i see you installed yours initially without fuel pressure guages and such....was there much hassle trying to dial iT in at first to get the required benefit???you seem to have the most experience using the BEGI.THX,MIKE.

    header wrap

I didnt think the header wrap would allow it to get that hot by the rear pipes..i'll keep an eye out but it has been holding up pretty good so far.
  11. ..anyone know what are the best cold start injectors to use as a extra injector??which ones put out the most fuel???looking to rig up a fast set up.

    header wrap

i'm only wrapping the pipes behind the cat to the turbo inlet....its hot but no where as hot as a header....i used to have a 72 Chevelle with a stroker 383 and i heat wrapped the headers and they were fine[cheapo headers btw]...it was a daily driver for 10 years.

    header wrap

yeah....ceramic would be nice but this is all low budget...so far the aluminum tape is working decent.
  14. I believe the vg30 Quest minivan has a alternator out put of over 100.

    header wrap

..i see they sell a paint used as a preservitive for the wrap but i doubt it will make it last much longer.I decided to try wrapping a small section and see how long it lasts. The aluminum tape seems to conform and hold the wrap prety well.

    header wrap

I used stainless steel flex tubing...no corrosion...no leaks...easy to conform ...its holding the 5-7 lbs of boost....it doesnt flow as well as hard pipe but for a fast turbo install, it was exactly what I needed.

    header wrap

I have a RMT[REAR MOUNT TURBO] set up on my 88 Nissan 200sxSE.i USE the new copper impregnated header wrap to try to keep the heat in the pipe that feeds my turbo. Its a daily driver car and the elements are just starting to cause the wrap to slightly fray.Anyone think there is a problem wrapping the header wrap with HVAC aluminim tape to maintain the existing wrap as well as add to the heat retention qualities???Thanks,Mike.
  18. I just finished installing my alky set up and it works great....i was curious what size nozzles did you use??
  19. Since your using the turbo ECU that has been retuned, does it still allow you to check the stored trouble codes and what the o2 sensor is reading????
  20. Congradulations on the maiden run...even if it still has some bugs in the system...i put a remote[rear] turbo on my 88vg30 200sx and the fuel pump has kept up fine so far...it also hits 5-6 on the boost guage.I kept the factory harness stock though.Does yor set up start easy,go to fast idle[cold] and idle down when warm????

    RRFPR as FMU

They[begi] show up on EBAY selling pretty cheap [used units]....I'd like to get the BEGI 2035 for my remote turbo 3.0 1988 200sxSE...The 2035 RRFPR has even more ajustability.
  22. i used one on my RMT set up because there is no room for a muffler anymore....it did make it alittle less noisey....way overpriced though.
  23. ...its important for the oil to get back into the pan......gravity is putting it back into the pan on the return line....if the turbo is mounted to low in relation to the oil pan it becomes a problem.
