Challenger
When he says hes an aerospace engineer hes relating it to the aerospace aspect of z cars......anyways since for the most part you cant gain power without fuel and L28s are making around the same power as 4 cyl these days wouldnt z cars get the same mpg as a 4cyl? So 30's for a well tuned L motor should be easily ubtained? Am I correct or just stupid?
olie05
I just recently recorded my MPG for the past week. Miles on Trip ODO: 326.8 Actual Miles: 339.5 (corrected for 225-50-15) Gallons of Fuel consumed: 13.783 MPG: 24.63 This is combined city and highway driving, including some pretty crappy traffic on one of the days. edit: l28 stock EFI, 10.3:1 cr, 81 5 speed tranny, stock 3.54 diff. (correct spedo sensor gear)
X64v
I get a pretty solid 16.5mpg for straight city driving in my 240. Pretty much bone stock '73 l24, minus all emissions, and running well tuned 3 screw su's. Highway mpg was around 22 with the 4 speed, haven't had a chance to record it with the zx 5 speed yet. BleachZee
After my turbo swap I've only done one check on milage. 1982 280ZX 2+2 turbo, T5, 3.54 rear, heavy 18's 225/40/18 22 mpg on a tank of misc driving that's about the same as I used to get with the 3.9 rear and NA engine with lighter wheels
