labrat
I grew up in West Virginia, just strap the rifle over your shoulder and walk up the hill behind the house. With rimfires it was okay, had to drive 4 or 5 miles for a good spot to shoot the big stuff. Got a .308 win 700 rem. that will put 3 rnds in the bottom of a coke can at 300 yds... Around there, groundhogs are considered a pest and it's open season on them year round (with a hunting license, of course). Anyway, nothing will turn them into a fine pink mist better than that rifle, and too far away to see with the naked eye.
Gollum
I go shooting every year up in the seirra in a place called "hell hole". It's all forest. The rangers usually show up and say "Is than an AR15? I got one in my truck if you wanna see it." Yea, a bit hicks, but they're all kool if you got your papers. It's usually a group of about 20 guys. We keep pretty standard rules to stay safe. All barrels point down range. During a target setup break no ammo in chamber. Just simple no-sence stuff like that. Just to make sure no idiot hurts anyone. By best fried has hit a coke can from an estimated 450 yards (estimated by a marine scout), it only took 2 shots. He claims his sights were off. I've hit a clay 3" target from 50 yeards with a 12 guage shotgun with slug shot ammo. Only one try. I want to try 100 yards next year. Damn hard to shoot a shotgun that accuratlly. My blackpowder is probly more accurate
