EvilRufusKay
Hey Guys, Can anybody tell me which crossmember is a 240 and which is a 280? HERE is a pic of both. Thanks!!
johnc
I think the bottom one is the 280 x-member, but measure the width of each. I think the 280Z crossmembers are wider.
EvilRufusKay
Thanks, unfortunately I need to have it sent today and I forgot to look at mine last night. I figures the 280 would be beefier, so maybe I will have the seller measure the width like you suggest.
jeromio
My 240 unit looks just like that bottom one. I think the main differences are to be seen with the unit flipped over. The 280 unit is a bit taller and more straight across, vs. the 240 being shallower and more curvy on the topside.
Dave
The one on the top is the 280Z front differential cross member and the one on the botton is the 240Z front differential cross member. They can be swapped, the 280Z one is stronger of the two.
johnc
Funny. I was under an early 260Z today and the front diff crossmenber is the one on top.
