Guest ckmoss01
Good Morning Guys: I recently had my exhaust redone, resulting in combining the two 2 1/4 inch pipes with turbo-stle mufflers into one single turbo-style muffler w/ 2 1/4 outlet. It almost seems as though the car is getting too much fuel - as I can get some nasty backfires and throttle stutters which I didn't previously recognize. This occurs mostly after a stop light and in 1st and 2nd gear. I wonder if your collective wisdom might provide some guidance. Thanks so much for the input. DaleMX
Better flowing exhaust scavenges better. Is the engine Fuel Injected or a Carb? It there an O2 sensor involved?
80LS1T
Why did you reduce the size of your exhaust? You went from dual exhaust to a single, correct? Guy
grumpyvette
the efficiency of the cylinders exhaust scavaging and the rpm range where it occures is effected in a MAJOR way by the headers and exhaust design, changing the exhaust restriction levels almost always results in a MANDATORY total retune/rejet or remap of the intake to match the new engine characteristics read this http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/html_product/sue462/backpressuretorquemyth.htm
