Powder coated my chromoly control arms (pics inside)

Recommended Posts

Well the rattle can wasn't holding up to well so I powder coated my control arms (tubular; chromoly). After hours of prepping and then coating, I was pretty happy with the results.

Those look great. I bought the powder coating kit from edmunds and have used it quite a bit. I have access to a big walk in 500 degree oven there so it makes coating easy. Although prep is always a huge pain. Hey I really like the car, nice job!

inless your using some really god awful powder, you should only have to do limited work on a semi clean part to prep it. I dont understand why you would have had to spend hours prepping a rattle can painted a-arm. sand blast em=10 minutes, paint them= 20 minute.

i don't have the greatest blast box, and when i do blast, i have the tendacy of getting every crevice and every part uniform. maybe took an hour, but it seemed like days!

thanks for the compliment,

steven m.
