Guest waanestad
So I'm 17 and just purchased a '79 280ZX. I'm looking to go turbo, and am in the process of purchasing a P90A head and turbo kit. Any advice, etc. for a young kid lookin' to make his little Z fast as he can??? Tips, ideas, anything. Thanks.
fl327
Never use the search function, whatever you do.

Guest waanestad
But see, that doesn't help me with the whole turbo conversion thing.
Guest HolyLlama
You can rig everything else anyway you want, but you MUST get the rack and pinion steering out of an 81 turbo or any 82-83 ZX. I screamed and cried simultaneously, when the turbo hit the steering on my 80. Of course it was for the best, I stuck the NA back in for the time being and recently found a Supra motor that's gonna go in there. This guy (he's on this board, can't remember his name) cut the waste gate actuator mount and made it work with the recirculating ball steering, but you don't have to cut anything with the rack and pinion steering and I like rack and pinion much better
Guest waanestad
What happened when you hit the gas, though? Remember, I'm a newbie to this whole car scene...I've done a little research, but nothing to familiarize myself with every part and potential complications... Cody 82 ZXT
Search the turbo/supercharger section and read as many of the post in that section as you can. There is a ton of great information on this site that has been logged in to the archieves.
