80LS1T
Ok incase you dont know... I am putting a 93' LT1 and T56 in my 1980 280ZX. Here's the problem... I mounted the master cylinder inside of the wheelwell so that it would come in the car in the right spot. I am using the master cylinder and slave cylinder assembly from the camaro set up. However I have modified the bracket to mount it in my car. The problem is that I can't get the pedal to go down...I mounted the slave cylinder to the T56 and it wont budge??? I can't figure it out. Isnt this assembly a sealed unit? So how could I mess it up? Thanks, Guy
Tim240z
Check to see if the rod on the slave isn't caught on something that is hanging it up. Also check that the angle of the master pushrod is perfectly straight. If it isn't it may be pushing against the bore of the cylinder. All I can think of. 80LS1T
Well I asked my auto instructor(fox valley techniacal college) at school today... I told him the problem and he seems to think that because it has sat for so long (about a year) with out any movement that the thrust bearing might have rusted tight or something. So I guess I will see when I take it apart. Thanks, Guy
Owen
Check the fork assembly on the tranny. To get the tranny apart you have to remove the slave and pull the fork off the clutch assy. Maybe something in there is jammed? Owen
