Guest Night_rider_383
I'm making out my junkyard shopping list. I will be taking a trip to a BIG cheap priced junkyard the weekend of Jan. 18. I was thining about getting a few sc 130 alts. So I could use one on my 78 drag car, my 88 driver and have a spare or 3 just in case What cars and years came out with this 105 amp CS-130 alternator? I think chevy started useing them in 86 but thats all I can find out about the years and all. Does anybody have a list or a link to a list that shows all the cars with this ALT? Thanks John
Mike C
My '86 Trans Am tuned port setup has the older 12si alternator. Usually cars like the 'vette or cadillac received the newer components first. 88 and newer F bodies should have the cs130 alternator. I think it was this months Popular Hot Rodding that showed how to wire up a cs alternator using a resistor in the L terminal circuit to excite it. fl327
most tpi cars have 100 plus amp alternators, and you can throw them over the fence pretty easy too.
Guest Night_rider_383
Thanks guys. I'll check out some of the caddys and other late 80's EFI full size cars when I go.. At the $10.50 price I can get a bunch of em and sell the ones that don't work to an alt rebuilder here in town for $12.00-15.00 each.. I found all the wiring and bracket how to on some nova/chevy II site the other night, so I got all that info.... Thanks again guys John
