Dayz
Hi Guys, I have a little problem with my daily, my celica. I just went for my emission test this morning and I failed like I coudn't be worst. asm 2525 test Limit Reading Result 65 345 Fail ( HC ppm ) 0.36 7.51 Fail ( CO% ) 484 53 pass ( NO ppm ) Curb idle test Limit Reading Result 200 762 fail ( HC ppm ) 1.00 10.48 fail ( CO% ) rpm 754 I need help with that. What do you think could be wrong...Sensors etc, My car is idling wierd, doesn't stay at 750, move from 400 to 900. There is no torque at low Rpm, like there is to much gaz. My car is running to rich I think and there is no EGR ( japan engine) It probably doesnt help. Help me to solve this problem Guys, I'll paypal a beer to people that find the problems !! Thank, Erik

Mike kZ
Is the check engine light on? If so you need to check what codes are on it. It could be a lot of things. Bad o2 sensor, bad catalytic converter , leaking injectors, etc.. One trick is to change the oil before your test, but I don't think that will help you, your numbers are way off. datsunlover
Yah, I would say try changing the O2 sensor... or maybe the cat is toast.. IIRC the cat on that is a honeycomb style.. if you can get it off to have a look, that would tell you; if you can look right through it, there's no catalyst left and that would probly be causing a loss of backpresure too.. (possibly causeing some problems with the idle?) My buddy had a 92 Paseo and had to change both (O2 and cat) to pass e-testing. Something else I heard to do before the test, is to change your coolant, and thermostat to one that will make the car run hotter. The hotter it runs, the more efficient it shoud run, and in turn burn less fuel/burn fuel more compleatly. Hope this helps. This e-testing thing sucks eh? Good luck. Dayz
The check engine light isn't on, therefore giving no codes. Can you clean yourself the injector or you need to send them, I have a spare set in case. Thanks Erik
