Guest hwk60
The shaft in the car i'm buying is shot, i'd like to get a good custom shaft and the best U joints for my set up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Tony
80LS1T
Any good driveline or machine shop can make a driveshaft. All you have to do is give them the measurements that they want. Guy
Guest hwk60
wish i knew the correct measurements, guess i'll put the stanley tape to the old busted shaft and hope it was the right length.
80LS1T
If you call the machine shop they will ask you for a set of dimensions. When I had mine made they asked for the center of the U-joints on the yoke end(tranny side) to the center of the u-joints on the flange end(differental side). If you can get the yoke and the flange off the old driveshaft you can do the same as me. Just put the yoke all the way in the tranny then pull it out 1/2"- 3/4" and attach the flange to the diff. Then measure from center to center where the u-joint would be. That is how they told me to measure mine. Guy
fl327
take that driveshaft to any driveline shop and just get the factory v8 ujoints installed at both ends, they go a long way in a light car.
