Tim240z
Don't tell her Tim
denny411
Tell her someone gave it to you, and that an engine like that usually cost AT LEAST $1000 or more. Now the next grand you spend is basically FREE money. I know the figures are a LITTLE exagerated, but if she thinks you are way ahead, she might give you a little more rope. If it`s a good running 350, 100 beans is still a pretty sweet deal.
HICKL
It's not a good running engine, its a worn out dog. But, it is all stock never been bored out or anything so I will gut it and off to the machine shop we go. Jeff
Guest Anonymous
I would buy all the wore out Corvette engines I could for $100.00 a piece. Forget about the hundred bucks, start concentrating on explaining the machine shop bill to her
denny411
That`s where the "But Honey, these engines normally sell for AT LEAST a $1000" comes in. Then you`ve got 900 left to work with. Alls fair in love and hot rodding.
Guest Anonymous
,,,,,forget those other lame excuses,,,tell her your building this car for her. Wait a minute, she may want to drive it.....never mind.

HICKL
I have spent the last year making my 76 look good and today I found, and purchased a 350 engine and tranny out of a 77 Vette for $100.00. Can't wait to get home and tear it apart. Yes guys, I've already ordered my JTR manual. Wish me luck. Let the games begin. How do I explain this to my wife..... HICKL
You guys are spot on! I am the master of the over-value scheme. I already twisted spending money into "saving money". From the projects inception, It has been "Ambers car" (my 3 yr old). I figure that won't bite me in the but for at least 13 years.
