awd92gsx
Thanks for the compliments guys. The headers came black, so, hopefully they'll look ok for at least a few minutes. I sat in a 2005 Pontiac GTO today and revved the engine...I can't wait to get this in and running
jbk240z
I used the hooker 2100 blockhuuger headers when I swapped a sbc into a 75' 280z and they fit very well, only had to ding one tube a slight amount for the steering shaft. The JTR mounts worked very well also. Definitely slot the mounting holes, it makes it wasier upon install and helps to get closer to the firewall. Good luck
spdsk8r
Back in 91 when I did my first conversion on a 77 280Z (JTR style), I just used cheapy Summit block huggers. They fit perfect, with no modifications. That was a long time ago, though, things may have changed since then.
awd92gsx
OK...I must need to slot the holes a little more, because I can't for the life of me get the damn things to line up on the driver's side. I'm taking a break now, but, looks like I need to take the sledge to the headers or something... I'm *almost* there...
awd92gsx
OK...slotted the holes and banged on the header collector a little with the BFH and the holes seem to line up now.
pparaska
Bill, Way to GO! That paint will burn off the headers right away. No biggie, once you get them to fit right, just take them off and send them to Jet-Hot. I have a V8 240Z, a 92GSXAWD. Now if I had an R1 we'd be vehicle twins . awd92gsx
I actually sold the GSX awhile ago... Damn..I wish I'd have known you had a GSX..I just sold a 16G I had sitting around for $100. The headers came black, but, at this particuliar moment in time, I just want to get it running and am not too worried about the header paint atm...hopefully that changes in the future...and I say hopefully because that means that I've been driving the car around for a bit and can start sweating the small things
