dune333racing
Before you guys tell me to do a search I was wondering if anyone knows the best way to build and install subframe connectors. I have some 1 inch square tubing laying and I was wandering if that is good enough. Any information or pictures will helpful
Tim240z
1" inch square likely won't give much extra stiffening. Most use 1" x 3" or 2" x 3" x .087" rectangular tubing.....
Guest 77vegasz
http://alteredz.com/structuralmods.htm Try this link. Scroll down the page and you will find a drawing with dimensions for making your own subfram connectors. Jon
Trevor
From the install photos it appears that Pete's subframe connector rail design requires 2 "Slots" cut in the floorpans. Has anyone made them that don't require cutting the floor pan panels? i.e. they set flush with the bottom of the floor. Also, can they be built completely bolt-in for the welding-impaired? Also' date=' can they be built completely bolt-in for the welding-impaired?[/quote'] Pete used 2 X 3 tubing, and cut the floor pan. Just use 1 X 3 and set it flush w/floor. I wouldn't bolt it in, not strong enough
