Gollum
WOW. That ZX i bought for 500 bucks... it's only got 26k miles on it! I totally didn't even look at the mileage when i bought it and i hadn't looked at it till i started working on it this last weekend. Holy crap man. That's REALLY low mileage. And it's 026, so it's not like it's been rolled over. This would explain why some of the interior is sun damaged, but other parts still really nice. I also have a feeling that the seats aren't the origonal, since they're torn up leather and the rest of the interior is great. The interior quality is sketchy. Some is great, some really sucks. This why i'm using alot of my prestine interior from my gold 280ZX. Anyways, are there even many Z's out there with this low of mileage? And is this really for real? I still can't believe that it could be that low. I guess we'll find out when i start it up in a couple of days and find out if the speedometer is hooked up... EDIT: Better? COZY Z COLE
It must be because the rainy season is near in CALI. because your post is confusing me . 99% of the Z cars with 26k actual miles on them are 350 Z's. Did you look under the hood? It would look quite different between 26k and 126 or more k. My experiance with interiors is that it's owners care not mileage that determines quality look. Why are you pulling interior from your gold one?? When you start that interior pieces of that age break and warp. If indeed that is actual miles, for $500, you got the deal of the year!! Better then the "chicken coop" 240Z find . LARRY
Gollum
Well, the when the previous owner used it as a parts car they let gasoline get all over the engine bay, and it sat outside for over a year, thus leaving it ugly. The interior looks like it went to the tanning salon a few too many times. My gold Z was garage kept, and the interior minus a few issues looks great. I'm thinking about calling up the guy i bought it from and asking for more of the history on this thing. Becuase i can't think of any reason it would have such low mileage. It calculates to 1130 miles per year. I put that on a car in a month. But i can see why i got it for 500 bucks. Crappy interior, missing fuel pump, missing fuel pressure regulator, missing alternator, missing air intake (only thing on it was the actual manifold, all else was gone), center console was disassembled, spare cavity was rusted (due to hatch being open during rain), missing hood springs, and a few other random things i can't remember. I've done alot, and i should have the motor running tomarrow. I started this all saterday, so that doesn't seem too bad. I hope to have it down at the muffler shop to get the exahst done by friday. I hope to have the interior done by next monday. So, is my calulation correct? $2,200 donor car(gold Z) + $500 unfunctional body (black Z) + $350 Misc. parts + Value of complete Z car. PS. The cali rainy season has started, this could be why no one can understand my posts. Sorry for the influence of bad weather on inoccent young men like me.
