  1. Can anyone explain how the painless harness hooks up to a 280z alternator/voltage regulator? Not really sure where the wire labeled: 'Alternator Exciter' or 'Solenoid Power' goes. Thanks.
  2. Any chance the above is a typo? I'm reading brown as 'ign switch ign' and the orange wire as 'ignition switch acc'. Making: Pin 2: pink and brown. pin 4: orange. Is this right?
  3. I'm going to try another post since my one from a couple days ago was a pretty poor one. I have a 1976 280z that I'm in the process of installing an 18 circuit ez wiring harness into with the original oem harness already installed. I'm at the stage of figuring out what is replaced by the ez wiring harness/fusebox and what needs to stay on the car to function. I'm trying to pull out the old harness off the front half of the car but it seems like its going to require some cutting and not simply unplugging some stuff and wiggling it out. Anyways some questions: 1) Transistor Ign box. 2) Some kind of vacuum control unit under the hood on the pass side near the strut tower. I'm assuming I need to keep these thing but how? Where do they run to/ are they easily removable from the oem harness. I appreciate your time and I'm sure I'll have a lot more questions as I try to figure out how a 30 year old car works. Anybody who has been through this with AIM or wouldn't mind being PMed with additional questions, It'd help a lot.
  4. Tired of chasing/bandaging wiring so I bought an ezwiring kit. Looking over the car I was wondering what needs to go to the ecu? Where did you guys put your fusebox when the stock ecu is in the ideal position. Thanks for your time guys.
  5. The hotdog eating contest title is back in the hands of an American. I think the japanese have had it for the passed 10 years, 5 of those being the Koby guy. Pretty crazy 15 minutes. http://www.nathansfamous.com/nathans/news/htmls/whats_new_main.php Chestnut WINS! Chestnut (66) Beats Koby (63) Sets New World Record Details Coming Soon... "The Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest has become a highlight of America's greatest patriotic holiday," said Waynbe Norbitz, President and COO of Nathan's Famous. 6. http://www.ziptied.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6734&highlight=dna+z31 Everything you'd want to know about that car. I think you can look at it, registering/posting takes a little work on that site.

  9. Wanted to check my timing and A) I have no clue what I'm doing and the manual is vague and Have no idea what the timing should be. I have a timing light and a 75 280z w/ stock efi l28. Is there a howto anywhere? Thanks for your time.
  10. Thats nothing compared to having the turbo hooked up to the the muffler and then pvc running back to the intake.

  12. zeeboost, were you at a HEB yesterday on 71? You have white lettering on your rear tires? Going to guess not, saw a red 280zx with ttops and mesh wheels there.
  13. Doesn't help you, but what tires brand/model are you going to run?
  14. Appreciate the info guys, its helped a lot. Jeff- How big of a pita is it to work on those? Having half the engine under the dash seems like it'd be a nightmare.
  15. Moreso looking for 3rd gen camaro experiences, but I'll take both. Mainly looking for handling/suspension ideas not for drag racing. Know of anyones build up webpage? Got pictures of a decent one you saw at autox/lapping event? Are there any racing classes that have these cars? Why is every car I see sky high, not enough suspension travel to lower these? I tried and failed at google because all I can find is 68 camaro build ups and drag racing suspension. Appreciate your time.
  16. Good job, I hate wetsanding and never got results as nice as that. You said you did it fast so Im guessing you didnt increase the grit of sandpaper used as you went along? How long did it take to do that panel? Electric buffer? What buffer compound? Sorry, no more questions....
  17. Pusher was the nickname of the guy in an xfiles episode that was able to persuade people to do things. I believe he got a swat guy to light himself on fire, an officer to crash into a blue semitruck and Mulder to play russian roulette. If anyone can tell me the season/episode of that fine flick I'd appreciate it. I tend to pick stupid names, I still use my AIM screename that I created about 8 or so years ago... that gets akward to explain to people.
  18. I just did this recently in my school's parking lot(no engine moving or swaybar dismounting.) It wiggled out. There was a clamp around the middle of the rack(attached like an exhaust clamp) that I had to take off. I wiggled it out from the drivers side if that helps. Wish I could give you more advise but it just slipped out on mine, hopefully you are doing this with the outter tierods off, maybe try taking off the rubber bushings also?
  19. This thread motivated me to check to see if my ipod mini was still broken. Thing hasn't worked in the passed two months, plugged it up to the PC and it boots, yay. This has happened like three times.
