Here's what I'm looking to do-

5 lug conversion, 4 piston vented in the front, 2 piston solid in the rear, retain e-brake, 17x7" fronts and 17x9" rear Cragar classic 5 spokes and keep it around 2 grand - including the $1200 for the rims.

I'll be putting on street flares in the front and IMSA flares in the rear to cover any offset variances but don't want any major effects on suspension or handling.

possible?

I was looking at the 200sx caliper kit from Modern-Motorsports for the rear. the M-M 4x4 kit also looks good for the front. I would like to use z31 hubs all around but I am concerned about clearance, offset variances and handling degradation. I am unfamiliar with suspension tinkering. How much of a big deal are the offset differences? will the calipers line up with the rotors? would handling be greatly compromised by rims with different widths (front vs. rear) and non-stock offsets? would running different width rims help to compensate?

Trust me it will cost you more then 1200 to do that

240sx calipers (200-250 -- rebuilt)

rear rotors ($60-70)

brackets, ss hoses, ebrake, etc ($250-300)

Front Rotors ($60-80)

Front Calipers (200-250)

SS lines front (60)

So far $830--$1000 unless you use used calipers but then you need a rebuild

and then you need the convererters or custom hubs to 270 and up up up

so cheap way yes it will cost you around 1200 - 1300 but that is for the cheapest conversion kit, you might also change the front bearings (and possibly the rears) so it will add another 100-300 on top then a master cylinder for another 120-180 on top

I have a similar setup, one thing I didn't see mentioned is wheel backspacing. Hope you can fit the wheels after buying all that stuff!

I have Z31 5 lug hubs, junkyard $30 for both

Redrilled rear stubs

240SX calipers, junkyard $25 for both

Z31 rotors (front vented, rear solid)

Toyota 4x4 calipers + spacer, approx $150

SS lines etc.

17x9 wheels, ZG fender flares

Rebuild kits for the calipers are like what, $20?

I don't think I spent $1200...but I stopped counting after a while :D

Pretty sure it was more like $800. If it was more, don't tell me....
