Guest Mr. Big Business
This may sound like a dumb question, but my holley blue pump and regulator didn't come with any instructions. The regulator came with a bracket, but no bolts. In the regulator (bottom) where it appears the mount should attach, the holes don't have any threads, but it looks like it's some kind of different metal. Am I just supposed to use 1/4 bolts and let them cut their own thread into these holes, or what? Thanks, Henry
QWKDTSN
If you didn't get any bolts with your kit, I believe that's what you do.... I don't really remember, but the regulator is a soft metal and I think the bolts are 1/4" and you just screw them in there, forcing their own thread. Mike C
It should have come with some self-tapping machine screws. Slightly tapered with a groove on the end. You can mount the regulator with either the flat of the bracket behind it or below it, if that makes sense. Whatever works best for you. BLKMGK
Isolate the Blue pump and it's not so loud. I used some rubber between the mount and the frame and mine isn't anywhere near as loud as it way. You should also insulate the braided line going to the front as it will vibrate itself and transfer sound into the car - use cushioned clamps. The regulator will make noise too - mine is on th firewall (bad place) and I can hear it. Again, isolate it...
72zcar
self tappers work good. I drilled the fender out and used bolts with teflon nuts on the back side. WOW,,,... the holly blue is LOUD... i may replace it with something quieter. Anyone have a suggestion for a quieter pump?
