HIWAY ONE
I searched on fuel dampener and didn't find much. I'm doing the turbo conversion on a 260Z. Do I need to buy a fuel dampener from a later model car and install since I'm now running FI. I've not read any mention of this in posts about turbo conversions but I see from the 83 FSM that the cars come with that. Have most of you used one or not? Thanks
Guest tony78_280z
I'd have to say yes. The dampner keeps the fuel pressure from fluctuating. Not sure how or why or any more, but if you are making a carbed motor into an EFI you will prolly need it. Get it from the same car you are getting the turbo from. Hopefully you got the car to scavange things off of. I'm sure there will be a ton of things that you hadn't thought of.
Clifton
It's just extra weight. Some cars have them, some don't. I've never used them.
