cyrus
I am always searching for the same info, So why not a stick of know basics in each section. For instance in the suspension forum it should be posted the max tire/rim/offset size for each 14,15,16,17,18's or Basic differential swap info in the drivetrain forum. Let the readers do the work and then combine them into a concise sticky. I have started this adding a "complete engine weight table in the 6 cylinder forum". What do you think? COZY Z COLE
Good idea but getting the correct info together and doing it might be a big task. Take the drivetrain forum for example, what does a R-230 look like and what cars do they come in and what other parts do you need for a conv. and what needs to be done to the stock DATSUN for it to fit.....DAMN. People say search.... well I've read the whole forum and when you've done that, you still can be confused. Lucky for me I know I've got a R-230 but I'm finding out the longer I wait the more that things are posted about mods that have to be made for proper fitment. Also it would be nice to have a year, model, and diff. column for all the Z's. Just my .02 cents!!!!!! LARRY
cyrus
exactly. I would agree. To make it easier we could just post known info, the whole thing does not need to be figured out.
Mikelly
Well we're all contributing to the problem. Let me explain... Three years ago I thought the T56 tranny was IT. Had to have one, if you were building ANYTHING with a V8... Not so anymore... Things change and so do parts options and selections... technology advances and so does the use of parts... Same thing happened to the SCARAB Z idea... For its day, that was THE way to do it... Until JTR came along... Now days the LS1 is THE engine... come two years from now THAt may change and by then HALF our members have sold their projects due to personal reasons, and 1/4 completed their projects and moved on... Meanwhile you have a few mainstays who will try like hell to beat Pete Paraska's 11 year record for project implimentation! (Hahahaha I crack me uP!) So you see, unless someone is going to maintain and update the data, it will ALWAYS be outdated, which in some cases WORKS for those building THAT combo and not the latest/ greatest... confusing I know, but I don't think building a database will work due to the amount of time required to keep it updated...
