cyrus
Can a 240Z with a single 3.5" exhaust be made quiet? I have a turbo Application and I need to have Zero Backpressure (well almost zero psi). Any combos or will I have restrictive or Noise?? Guest ON3GO
why dont you just run a nice quiet built nice size exhaust with a few quiet mufflers.. sorta like this http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=191815&prmenbr=361 maybe not that model but you get the idea. and when you want to get up and go and use all your power, put in a electric cutout and open it up when you need it. mike
cyrus
I only have room for 1 muffler in the back. I do not want to do cutouts...
Guest Magnum Rockwilder
Get a factory muffler from a powerful car like a Supra, Corvette, etc.
Phantom
Do a search on the web under auto mufflers. There are several manufacturers that have relatively low restriction but legally quiet mufflers. http://www.magnaflow.com is one of them. RPMS
When Hot Rod did a buildup of a supercharged 240 back in the mid '80's they used mufflers out of a '72 Buick Riviera. Grandma had one of those, and it was a pretty quiet car, even with a 454 cid engine.
cyrus
Well I am using 1 supra TT MKIV muffler but i think it may have some bp...
Tim240z
Well I am using 1 supra TT MKIV muffler but i think it may have some bp... Plumb in a pressure gauge just before the muffler with some copper tubing. 1 psi of back pressure is considered non-restrictive 2-4 psi is still good and will not make much difference on a street car. 5+ psi is costing you HP All those pressures are measured at WOT, so testing gets a bit tricky, but maybe a track day would help.....
