Guest broke_280
Can someone please give me the pro's and con's of each? Why switch to a 5 lug hub? I have searched, and found threads on how to do this, but not why I should do this. I have a '76 280 that I plan on useing as my daily driver, with track time a few times of a year. Tim240z
better choice in rims is the main reason. Z car OEM 4 lug PCD and off-set are tough to find decent rims..... Tim

Z-TARD
Probably the most cost effective alternative is to use adapter/spacers that allow you to use more modern wheels with negative offset, and either honda or toyota bolt pattern. Something like these: http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=6 Or something like this maybe, although I'm not sure I'd use it in a high performance application as it is two piece:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7949302247&category=42614 I have a set of these on my 280Z "The Turd", and am very happy with them:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7950130116&category=66486 Hope this helps, Mike
Dudeboy
Z-TARD quick question, When you ordered your adapter/spacers did you specify hubcentric? and If you did what specs did you provide. broke_280, I apologize for posting within your post, As Tim240Z and Z-TARD indicated the wheel selection is endless, as well as you will have money left over to put into other areas of your car !!!!!! Z-TARD
Yes they were hubcentric, and he already had the specs for the 280Z hubs so I didn't have to measure anything. He can also make them centered to the wheels as well, but you'll have to provide the dimensions for the center hole in your wheels for that. I didn't choose to center mine to the wheels, but they seem to run very true anyway, no vibrations at all. Mike

Dudeboy
Thanks Z-TARD and Tim, I am looking more at the 5 to 4 lug adapters for the rear of my car and Z31 hub/brake set-up in the front. The wheels I am considering buying are the all black 18 x 10 Saleen wheels and 18 x 8 or 9 up front at http://www.wheelreplicas.com. Tire size will be 285/30-18 for the rear which is approx. the same height of stock specs and 225/35 -18 in the front. Again,Thanks. By the way Z-TARD, I am from San Diego (Lemon Grove). I have been in Georgia for 15 years (school, wife, business -kids!!!) I miss San Diego -California for that matter and access to Datsun and Z parts. Is Performance World still in El Cajon and the other location on University Ave?
