EvilRufusKay
Well I got to work on the car for the first time in 3 months. After my dual carpul tunnel surgery I needed a little recoup time. It was great!! I got most of the second 1/4 done. Just the lip to go. It came out pretty close to the first one and with a little body work you will not be able to tell the difference. If any of you guys suffer from hands that go to sleep I highly recommend the surgery. My hands have gone to sleep for almost 20 years and about a year ago my thumbs and 1st thru 4th finger were numb all the time. The doc said that I had the worst case he has seen in 25 years. All is well now, my hands are a little weak but strong enough to hammer on the car, and they did not get numb once!! Rufus
DavyZ
Good to hear you are up and at 'em again. So what exactly do they cut in the surgery? I'm assuming they cut a tendon in the wrist or something like that? I'm happy I don't need that!!!! Davy
EvilRufusKay
There is a muscle that runs perpendicular to your wrist just at the base of your palm. They cut your palm, then cut the muscle and sew you up. I could have done it with a bottle of Jack, a utility knife and my wifes sewing kit!! Your nerve is about a 1/4 inch wide and resembles a piece of cooked linguini. The doc sais mine looked like cooked linguini that someone had stood on for an hour... Luckily nerves regenerate. BillZ260
I have this issue while I am at work only, garage activities seem to help actually. I am hoping that I can get out of this office job before I end up where you are...
EvilRufusKay
Funny that different activities affect people differently. Mine was not from typing but from manual labor when I was young, and weight lifting exercises directed at my forearms, once again when I was young. Typing never bothered me. Of course what I do with a keyboard could hardly be called typing...
BillZ260
LOTS of mouse work, little typing. Fancy contraptions to put things where they are supposed to be helps some but by the end of the day, I am pretty uncomfortable. I can then go home and work out and work in the garage and get full feeling back, stretches and exercises help some but I fear the worst will come soon enough.
