Lewis Maudlin
I ran across a good deal on pacesetter headers for my 1978 280Z. Will I gain anything other than heat issues? My hood is the fully louvered one with 82 metal louvers so I should be able to shed the excess heat. My last Z was an sbc, now I am keeping the L6 cause it only has 60k miles. I have put a 5 spd behind it. Next year I may go with the turbo swap. Will these headers make my car more enjoyable for the next year or just be a pain. Thanks
datsunlover
If you're planing a turbo swap, I'd say don't bother with the header.. it's gona be rendered usless in a year when you go turbo.
Lewis Maudlin
I am wondering about the next year. The price I found is $70 and I figure than in a year I can sell them. So will they be helpful or probably not
datsunlover
Personaly, I don't think it'd be worth the hassle.. your not gona pick up that much power unless you get a bigger exhast instaled at the same time and while your at it, do some work on the intake to enable the engine to suck in more air.. on top of that if you can advance the timing a bit, and get a nice free flowing mufler, and you'll start to see/feel some gains.. but just hoking the header to the stock exhast/rest of the car isn't gona do much IMO.. slownrusty
Pacesetter headers...are rubbish! Their company motto should be: "$100 headers = $100 performance" There is a reason you are getting them cheap. Yasin
