260ZRED
I am trying to make a grill for my Z and need more of these.. but.. what are "they" called???? (the specific bend type cross section) It is a common mass produced shape, correct? What type of machinery would be req'd to bend a straight rod like that to exact specifications? (And not crush or deform it) thanks for any help with this.. here's what Im talking about: http://www.freewebs.com/karma_poleez/000_0227.jpg http://www.freewebs.com/karma_poleez/000_0229.jpg EDIT: DON'T KNOW WHY THEY WERENT SHOWING UP BUT HERES THE URL EDIT2: copy and paste links, don't click on them.. JMortensen
That would appear to be extruded. Easier to push it out in that shape than bend it into that shape. What the form is, what it is used for, etc is the mystery. I'm familiar with extrusions in aluminum in the context of window framing and such. Good luck finding out exactly what it is.
