Mikelly
...And I again, this evening we just got back from the hospital and he is doing great. They may let him go home within the next two days, and then go back for the upper GI on Thursday. He was sitting up in bed and talking with the room full of guests... Kids, grand kids... Hospital rooms are small. We had 9 people plus my dad pacled into one room. He was eating up the attention. He also was telling me everything I had done wrong on the garage and how NOW he wants to go back and fix it... He's getting back to normal. I think I'm gonna hire him when he retires, and just let him be my personal handyman/ construction consultant! God, I love my old man... Guest Zpeed
i can feel what everyone here is feeling about there perants, my dad is like my grandfather, helps me with anything and everything, teaching me all the household stuff, mechanical, right now we are doing around 40square meters of brick paving, while rebuilding his V6 engine, and also doing work on my car, 260z, i really love my dad and everything he helps me to do, and i love helping him do everything he needs help with. and after the work we sit down and we get a cold beer from the fridge and sit down and watch some good ol television.. hehe funny perants when ur young, you really hate them some times, but love them all the time.. btw i'm only 18 so i'm kinda like how you guys where like growing up with the cars and all that.. hehe... silicone boy
Mike, it's great to hear your father is doing better. I want all of you to know that I had sent him some parts I bought from him to repair, and he was working on them during this past week while his dad was in the hospital. I didn't know about the illness in the family. Mike, I appreciate the commitment to your customers, but I want you to stop working on my stuff and concentrate on your dad. As you know, I am a physician and I truly believe that family involvement (as you are all obviously doing) helps a patient get better. Take care. Mikelly
Guys,My dad came home from the hospital yesterday. His condition is much improved, but he is gonna be on some powerfull meds for the next week, then back to the hospital next Thursday for an Upper GI test. We've come a long way from Friday night... I thought when I typed this original thread Friday night that I would be making funeral arrangements by the end of the weekend. It has certainly made me appreciate his existance that much more. I'm not big on religion, but I found myself having conversations with the maker/ creator, and it was a very moving 5 days... Life is short, and we have such little time to spend with all those we charrish in this life. I'd like to take the time to tell each of you that I'm glad you found this board, and that you get something usefull from it. Tell those who matter most to you just how much they mean to you. I know that my father telling me that he loved me, it meant more than words could convey. Take the time, you will be glad you did, as will those you matter to! Thank you all for the well wishes. Guest Aaron
Mike, I have been out of town a few days, and did not get to this thread till now. Now is the time for prayers of thanks. I know what you mean about the words that mean so much to you. My grandfather told me he was proud of me before we lost him. Even though he often complained (jokingly) that I got some of his best hay land, he told my wife and I that letting us build a house on his land was one of the best things he ever did. Be thankful for you new chance. Sometimes these things happen to prepare us for the future. Sometimes they happen to bring us closer to God. PETEW
Mike, I'm glad to hear that your father is doing better. I didn't get a chance to see this thread until today. Keep a positive atitude, it really goes a long way in life. There is nothing more important in life than family. I'm glad you are going to get to spend more time with you dad. I will keep you and your father in my prayers.
