tonycharger72
Was wondering if anyone could help me out with this, I live in Australia and was wanting to know if we ever got a Nissan that used the 240sx Rear Calipers, Ive been told that s13 silvia's, 180sx's used this caliper but im not 100% certain, Anyone know for sure what Nissan's in OZ used this caliper??? tonycharger72
Ops, did a search on this one and came up with the following, S13 Silvia's & 180sx's used the same calipers as the 240sx's, So if you are using Ross C's MM rear caliper bracket, you can use, 240sx Rear Calipers S13 Silvia's Rear Calipers 180sx Rear Calipers
Jsquared
S14 240SX/Silvia calipers are a tad larger piston than the S13 ones, and the bolt-up part should be the same...
tonycharger72
Local wreckets told me that the s14's had a 2-piston rear caliper and hydraulic handbrake, completely different from the s13's, Then another wrecker said the 240sx calipers looked exactly the same as the calipers he's got from a s14 200sx silvia................. Was also curious, Isnt there a factory nissan Caliper bracket that you can use with the 240sx calipers and the Z31 rear rotors???
tonycharger72
Can anyone confirm that the S14 200sx rear calipers are the same as the S14 240sx rear calipers??? They look pretty much the same to me, but im not 100% certain and i havent managed to get a definite answer from anyone
thumperZ
you can use 89-94 240sx rear actuators(calipers). i have that setup on my 240z and it truely bolts right up
2126
As you can imagine, Datsun/Nissan used that rear caliper on a number of cars. I believe it is the same rear caliper as on a late model 280ZX!
tsheldon
Thumper Z... directly bolts up to what ???? Only combo I know uses the ross C mm bracket and the 300 xz NA rotor... is there something else out there as an option????
260DET
Check the rotor sizes of the two, tc72, that should tell you something eh
tonycharger72
I havent been able to track down a listing for the s14's - the DBA website only has listings for the S13 & S15, Ill have a look at some US sites, im sure they have a listing of the s14 rear rotors
Jsquared
USDM S14 rear rotors are identical in all dimensions to USDM S13 rear rotors, per the FSM.
tonycharger72
Jsquared - thanks for that mate, Also a local 200sx guy told me that there was no difference between the s13 & s14 rear calipers,
Jsquared
I don't know about Aussie stuff, but the USDM S14 calipers have a marginally larger piston than the S13 in the back (3mm larger diameter I think) but the same rotor, bolt points, lines, etc (maybe even same pad too), so if you can get your hands on a set of those they should give a tad more force in theory, don't know if it's enough to be noticeable though... should bolt right in the exact same as your source mentioned. I have all the USDM S13/S14 piston/rotor specs written down around here somewhere but I can't find them at the moment glad I could help
