Mike Mileski
Here's a picture of the finished front a-arms I have built. They are made from 1 1/8" OD, .220" wall, tubing that is fully threaded (no welded in inserts) on both ends. One side is 3/4"-16 LH, which accepts a 3/4" male rod end that has the required 5/8" bore ball and the other side is threaded to accept a metric tie rod that uses the identical tapered stud as the Datsun ball joint. The LH / RH threads allow on-the-car adjustment. It also has tabs on the top side that mount a rod end that links to the sway bar. The tabs on top allow a straight alignment with the end of the sway bar that is located directly over the top of the a-arm. It also mounts the rod end in double shear. I have also made heavy duty TC rods using 1" OD tubing that accepts a heavy duty 3/4-16 RH thread shank clevis on one end and a 3/4-16 LH threaded rod end on the other. Both ends are fully threaded (again, no welded in inserts) which also allows on-the-car adjustments. This picture is also located in my album as "Improved Front A-Arm".
