adapting z31 components to s30

I've been thinking about trying to adapt the z31 rear suspension and subframe to the s30.

Has anyone ever attempted this? What about the front?

I've got a complete 88 NA that is in excellent shape that I wouldn't mind adapting to the s30. I havn't bought my s30 core yet, but I'll be doing a complete resto on it. Once the core is here i'm building a spic so that I can rebuild the bottom side of the car and prep it for the major amounts of HP it will be expenecing (ok mabye not major, but 425hp in a street driven 280 will be fun enough).

I'm thinking about building a "hidden" rollcage into the s30 to help the rigidity of the car.

Any ideas i would greatly appricate.

Also, though it will take a couple years to build and my current budget for the car is ~$40,000 canadian in parts. All the work will be done by me.

Sorry' date=' that got a chuckle out of me because I got a funny visual :)

Anyway, why would you want to use an z31 suspension on an s30? Rear suspension sucks![/quote']

The z31 trailing arms are much beefier and stronger than the s30's.

There is a guy here called Maichor who adapted 240SX rear suspension which I believe is the same as the Z31 suspension. If you search this forum for Maichor you should find answers to all your questions.

Z31 IS QUITE ABIT DIFFERENT THAN THE 240SX REAR SUB-FRAME.... THE 240SX SHARES ITS SUSPENSION WITH THE Z32 AND R32-R33 SKYLINES.

well i hope that the z31 suspension would work. it's definantly not the best system around, especially because I would still have to deal with camber adjustment and **** like that, but it is still a better setup than the s30's, and converts me to 5-lug as well. I wouldn't mind trying to retrofit my front suspension to the s30 as well... mmm power steering.
