tomz76
I finally finished my engine swap. yahooo!!!! I used an 82 motor/ECU and it it runs well but fowels(spelling) plugs. I used the intake manifold from my 76 (federal model). There is no EGR valve and obviously no factory BOV. I am using a cone filter inside the engine compartment and a KHS BOV. One part i did't use is a thing that plugs into the ECU, intake pipe, EGR valve, Factory BOV, and the intake manifold. Is this the MAP sensor? Also would not using this make my plugs go bad I have the adjustment screw on the AFM backed off almost all the way. I am at a loss. Thanks for any help Tom
bumble zee
You could tighten the spring on the afm flapper. I wouldnt go to far, adjust like 2 to 3 teeth at a time and see what happens.
Thumper
Check head temp switch, coolant switch, tps switch, and for vacuum leaks. Also make sure you don't have the start signal coming from number 2 plug going to a constant 12+. It needs to be going to the start signal.
