price difference l28, l28et

I looking to swap from an L28 to an L28et. or something along those lines. Basically I want an inline 6, a turbo, and 280hp. I dont mind it being in somewhat crappy condition, as long as some TLC will fix it. I assume that my best bet would be to just get the entire longblock + turbo, intake. wiring harness, etc... Now my question is, what kind of price difference would I see between the price I could sell my (running) L28 for, and buy a (hopefully running) L28et. Would I be better off trying to just get the pistons and stuff from an L28et block? Maybe someone who has swapped these before could advise me?

Thanks,

-Kito

Huh? Do as I say, not as I do?

I paid $750 for a wrecked, but running 280ZXT, and swapped it all in my '78, bone stock, before I started modifying. I will always recommend that route, don't try to turn a non-turbo into a turbo if you have the option. Not saying it can't be done, it's just much easier to find a donor.

yea len, whassup with that? I thought your advise was to go with a donor vehicle? I payed $500 for the 280, so i sure hope i wont have to pay more than that just for a turbo motor. I'm trying to keep it economy, although I plan on splurging a little with the intercooler, BOV....
