280zwitha383
I was flipping through the channels earlier today and I saw a burnout competition, nothing all that great until they showed the winner. It was a newer crx with a 350 in it. Now I've never been a fan of the CRX but just the thought of the power to weight ratio makes me giggle a little. Anybody know any links to people who have done the conversion or have any info? Thanks ~Lance
Gollum
I know those cars VERY well. Get ready to rebuild the whole front end in order to make the engine fit. And a standard CRX weighs around 2200 pounds, kinda heavy for the size of the vehicle and the fact that it's FWD. I'd surprised to see a 350 convertion CRX weighing less than 2500. And that's not unreachable with a Z. But it's still freggin' cool. Seeing a CRX burn rear tires all day would be awsome.
BrandonsZ
It would have been AWD with a 350, but then I realized the 350 would have to go in back because there's no room under the hood for it. And it would be very hard to keep it is sleeper. still sounds fun though.
Gollum
You right. Even though nothing about it is practical, it DOES sound fun. I've been trying to get my buddy with a CRX to do a RWD conversion. His excuse is that it's too much work... Pshh, forget him then.
(goldfish)
my brothers '86 CRX said 2300lbs gross on the door plate. They must be under a ton

There's no way that's worth the trouble. Besides, it would still be a CRX. Oh well, props to the guy that did it though. i saw a Geo metro a few months back with a big block sticking out of it... was loud as hell from blocks away Now THAT I wouldn't mind seeing. Guest HBZ81
it really caught me off guard, i had to look at it for awhile to find out what was going on with it because it was jacked up on some fat tires and had a cut out hood with a carb sticking out
Gollum
That's AWSOME! I've always wanted to find a motor with rally tall heads and have just the heads stick out of the hood somehow. I think that'd be sick.
