280zNHChris
Hi all. I bought a '72 240 w/'82 L28ET recently. I have been doing alot of work on it. A steel brake line was rubbing on the driveshaft and wore a hole in it. It was like that for awhile. When I got it all going, it must have blown the oiston, fluid is coming out the rear dust seal. I imagine I should get a pair of calipers, but I don't know what year this rear disc conversion is. I imagine '82 also, but I have no idea. I looked in microfiche but can't tell there. Can anyone I.D. this for me? Also you can see the driveshaft in the photo and the emerg. brake cable was rubbing it for a long time, no boot, some rust, crud??? Thanks Chris
JMortensen
That is the earlier 79-81 ZX setup you have there.
280zNHChris
Thanks. That just upped the price $24 each. Should I get a seal rebuild kit and do both sides or new calipers??? Thanks
JMortensen
I've never rebuilt them myself and I've never seen a bad one in person. Someone here did a set recently and said it wasn't too bad to rebuild.
280zNHChris
I took it off, I will mess with it later. No one has one in stock, Advanced has the best price. $77. Will probably have to order them. Do you need to get a shim kit?? Anything else I should order with the calipers to make it work good? Don't want to mess with them again.
