Guest JAMIE T
I do fabrication for a shop that races in historical races. We even have a car that has raced three Monteray Historics. One thing to know is, only cars that have actual race history can qualify as a Historic Race Car. This can be accomplished by first getting certified as a SCCA racer, or by having your car driven by a certified racer for a few years, or long enough to develop a log book to show that the car has a racing history. I want to do a legal 240Z race car, to do the same exact thing. Though I see plenty of ITS 240Z's for sale on ZCAR, that may be a cheaper way of doing it, just make sure the owner gives you the cars log book. A race car with a log book is more valuable than one without. I hope you do build or buy a car for historic races, I don't want to be the only one out there. johnc
Most vintage racing associations specifically disallow current competitive vehicles. I think VARA is the only one that allows a 240Z to run.

Guest Anonymous
You should have asked Mr. Edelbrock about his incindent at the Monterey historics last year when a Datsun 510 with a 1600cc L series motor driven by John Morton pushed his racetrack hogging ass off the track because he didn`t want a little 4cyl showing up his Smokey Yunick 5.0 vintage trans am Camero.By the way it was a repeat of the 73 trans am championship year with Datsun once again beating the second place Alpha Romero.John Morton is my hero!
