rudypoochris
Just wondering if a 30 year old sway bar loses its springyness (torsinol [sp] rigidity) over time? I think it is the stock bar. Thanks

rudypoochris
I have a 1974 and upgraded my swaybars. It made all the difference in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks but that doesn't help. I realize that upgrading the sway bar and adding a back bar helps alot. Hence why i have a suspensions techniques set that I just installed What i was wondering, to clarify, is that with age and use does the stock metal front 240z sway bar lose its ability to be effective, either by becoming too soft or too brittle? Or does the bar pretty much stay the same and behave as if it were new (provided new bushings are supplied)?
johnc
For the vast majority of the time an anti-roll bar is on a car its not under any load. I have yet to ever see one that's worn out.
DaleMX
I've seen the bushings go bad, and I seen them bent out of shape from contact, but the temper would never be lost unless you heated it with a torch or parked over a pile of flaming coals.
