Z0wner
I was reading somewhere that the original muffler of a early Z car was rare because the quality of the original was less than mediocre and they would be replaced with higher quality exhausts. I have searched the internet for this information, but I have not been able to find it. I hope you guys can help. I am wondering what the brand of the original 'whistler' muffler was. I think I may have an whistler muffler sitting around and today I was debating whether or not to trash it. Does anyone know the value of an original muffler if any? I don't want to throw something away that could be valuable.
rudypoochris
Just out of curiosity why would some one want a less than mediocre muffler?
Sparks280zt
Just out of curiosity why would some one want a less than mediocre muffler? Die hard purists do, some strive to replicate everything as it was stock, even the factory overspray

mom'sZ
Die hard purists do, some strive to replicate everything as it was stock, even the factory overspray No kidding... I even heard of vette restorations where they thought the body work was to straight (they were pretty wavy from the factory)
Lunar240z
It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. You might want to check with one of the other datsun forums like zcar.com or classiczcars.com because, as you may know, most of us aren't interested in keeping our cars original. Maybe try posting it in the classifieds over there...
