Oleh
Ok im in chicago and im picking up a VK from indiana, about a 300 mile drive. Is there a truck company like u-haul or something that offers a engine cratle or something similar ? or if anyone ever transported a engine, how did you do it ? Tim240z
Couple of old tires for the engine to rest on, then rope it to the bed of the pickup so that it doesn't roll around.....

MusPuppis
Thats my method of choice. U-Haul rents those pull-behinds that you could lug around with a car provided it wasnt an anemic 4 banger with 80hp.. You could grab one of those and use the tires and rope as decribed if you dont have a truck.

Only trouble is even the cherry picker is no doubt 200 lbs so don't buy the engine from granny without help.
