Turbo block

Do I necessarily need to use the 280 turbo block to build up a twin turbo motor?

Is there an advantage to using the 280 turbo block? I have a 260 motor i would much rather use.

would stroking the motor be a good idea? or does it really matter?

I know i could get more power with the turboed stroker.

also, This is just a question about the motor, i dont want to hear about cost or what i plan on doing to the suspension brakes etc, etc..

thanks

You don't have to use the 280ZXT motor to build a 2.8L TT. Search on the differences between the Turbo blocks and not they have been discussed. You can use a 260Z motor but its 2.6 liters none Fuel Injected (you'd have to convert). Stroking helps and can get you more power you just have to worry about compression with the stroker kits out there unless you go with custom pistons. Search Search search the answers are on this site.

FWIW, my block is the original N42 (i.e., non-turbo) block that came with the car. It does have a nitrided stroker crank, forged rods and forged pistons, but the block has never given me any problems. Only slight drawback is that there is no fitting for the factory knock sensor, although I'm not convinced that they work, anyway...
