drunkenmaster
Pretty sure this type of question has been covered tens of times. I think you should search for those topics instead. FWIW, first time i used wire wheel, second time I sandblasted. (sandblasting often wont take off thick rubberised/bitumen coating though)
MusPuppis
Yeah, do some searching, lots on this topic. A quick break-down for ya. Carb Cleaner works. Its how I did it. Just spray, give it a minute to soak in, scrape with a scraper, spray again, scrape again, spray again, scrape again, repeat until your angry. When I was done I hit the area with a wire wheel. If your concerned with maintaining the paint underneath use a soft plastic scraper and do more spraying and wiping than scraping. Other methods folks have used - Mr. Muscle oven cleaner. (Any oven cleaner thats not heat activated should work, but Mr. Muscle seems to be favored) Heat Gun. Air Chisel. Anger.
Jeff
This subject has been covered quite a bit like the others have indicated but do a search on "undercoating removal" instead of underbody coat and you'll see lots of results.
