qwik240z
I want to add some dynamat to my Z to make it a bit quieter. I would like to do the firewall, kick panels, trans tunnel, inside the doors, the floors, behind the seats vertical section and the entire back area including the quarters, spare tire well, etc. I am thinking about using Dynamat Extreme. In the bulk packs it comes with 36 square feet (9- 18" x32" pieces) How much will I need? I am thinking that 2 packs of the bulk pack will be more then enough. I am also thinking of adding a layer of the Dynamat Extremeliner under the front mats, over the trans tunnel, on the firewall and in the hatch area under the carpet. How much will I need? Anybody done this? Yes. I know I will be adding about 30-40 pounds of weight. I am willing to make the trade off for a quieter ride. Thanks for the help. boodlefoof
I used FatMat to do my '68 Camaro and it took about 70 sq. ft. That did front and rear firewall and the entire floor (two layers over muffler area). The Z interior is obviously much smaller... but if you want to do doors and roof, 70' might do you.
